Vandaag was er in De Oosterpoort een hackathon in kader van Metavenues. Dit is een Europees project, gefinancierd door de Europese Unie waar SPOT, Echo en Komodaal zich bezig houden met metaverse en immersive technolgy. Hoe zal het podium van de toekomst er uitzien met alle nieuwe technologieën en digitale trends die zich blijven ontwikkelen. Podia werken met publiek, artiesten en professionals die werkzaam zijn in de podiumkunsten. Zij worden allemaal beïnvloed door nieuwe technologische trends.

Onderzoek en prototypes
Metavenues wil daarom al deze groepen samenbrengen in een onderzoeks- en pilotproject om bruikbare prototypes te ontwikkelen voor Europese podia voor uitvoerende kunsten. De belangrijkste onderzoeksvraag van dit project is: hoe beïnvloeden nieuwe technologietrends de rollen die podia voor podiumkunsten vervullen in de samenleving, en hoe kunnen ze deze rollen mogelijk verbeteren?

Enthousiaste discussies en bijdragen
Een internationale denktank van 20 professionals werkzaam bij podia met uiteenlopende achtergronden ging vandaag met alle vraagstukken aan de slag tijdens de hackathon. De levendige discussies en enthousiaste bijdragen benadrukten het belang van het voorbereid zijn met digitale ontwikkelingen.

Gezamenlijke aanpak
Alle deelnemers voelden de sterke behoefte om met elkaar te blijven ontwikkelen, overtuigd van het feit dat we aan de vooravond staan van enorme technologische ontwikkelingen die grote impact gaan hebben, op ook de rol van de podia. Met een positieve vibe verlieten de deelnemers het evenement, geïnspireerd om de uitdagingen van de toekomst gezamenlijk aan te pakken.

Vervolg denktank met artiesten en publiek
Morgen staat er weer een Metavenues hackathon op het programma in kunstenhuis Bozar in Brussel. Dan zitten artiesten in de denktank. Op 26 maart is er een online bijeenkomst voor het publiek om over de impact van opkomende technologieën op de toekomst van muziek. Je kunt je nog aanmelden via deze site.

Today, a hackathon was held at De Oosterpoort as part of Metavenues. Stages collaborate with audiences, artists, and professionals working in the performing arts, all of whom are influenced by new technological trends.

Research and prototypes
Metavenues aims to bring all these groups together in a research and pilot project to develop useful prototypes for European performing arts stages. An international think tank of 20 professionals working at stages with diverse backgrounds tackled all the issues during the hackathon today. The lively discussions and enthusiastic contributions emphasized the importance of being prepared for digital developments.

Collaborative approach
All participants felt a strong need to continue developing together, convinced that we are on the eve of enormous technological developments that will have a major impact on the role of stages. With a positive vibe, participants left the event, inspired to collectively tackle the challenges of the future.

Follow-up think tank with artists and audience
Another Metavenues hackathon is scheduled for tomorrow at the Bozar arts center in Brussels, with artists in the think tank. On March 26th, there will be an online meeting for the public to discuss the impact of emerging technologies on the future of music. You can still register via this website.
