Het Australische gezelschap Gravity & Other Myths maakt een eigenwijze vorm van circustheater. De performers verkennen hun eigen grenzen en die van het genre en dat resulteert in verbluffende shows met veel vaart en lef.
Sprookjesachtig circustheater
Out of Chaos… is een strak vormgegeven show, waarin de acht jonge acrobaten zich van hun stoere en van hun kwetsbare kant laten zien. Met veel humor tonen ze hun virtuoze techniek, maar ook de hoeveelheid bloed, zweet en tranen die het kost om zo goed te worden. Het resultaat mag er zijn, want de originele en ongekunstelde voorstelling met een bijzondere rol voor de muzikant is “een ontroerend zelfportret van een vriendenclub, een sprookjesachtige tocht door duistere oorden, een uitgekiende choreografie en een fascinerende luistertrip ineen.” (Theaterkrant)

By exposing the inner workings of the world-class acrobat they unveil the magic that is Gravity and Other Myths most precious commodity: the genuine human connection between each other and our audience. At its conceptual center, it is a story of how things come together. People, planets and plans. Audience, performer, sound and light. The thoughts that shape us and in turn define how we make sense of our inner and outer worlds.
The piece moves with agility between chaotic creation stories and our seemingly ordered understanding of the here and now, all the while hinting at the strange space between knowing and contemplating our mortal significance.
