Spiegel im Spiegel
Het Nederlands Kamerkoor en Amsterdam Sinfonietta verkennen de grenzen van muziek, tekst, bezetting en zaal. De twee topensembles zweven langs kleine, solistische werken en weidse toonzettingen voor koor en strijkorkest. Het publiek wordt omgegeven door musici en zangers, waardoor de muziek vanuit alle hoeken door de zaal vibreert.
Spiegel im Spiegel
Centraal staat het meditatieve Spiegel im Spiegel van de Estse componist Pärt. In Plainscapes van diens Letse collega Vasks lijken tijd en ruimte oneindig. Vaughan Williams slaat met zijn Fantasia on a theme by Thomas Tallis een brug naar de zoete, zestiende-eeuwse Tunes van diezelfde Tallis. Maar u hoort ook de woeste oerkreten van Tormis in Curse upon Iron en het vurige Concerto van Sumera.

Spiegel im Spiegel
The Nederlands Kamerkoor (Netherlands Chamber Choir) and Amsterdam Sinfonietta explore the boundaries between music, lyrics, strength and auditorium. The two top ensembles float along small, soloist works and grandiose compositions for choir and string orchestra. The audience is surrounded by musicians and vocalists, causing the music to vibrate from all corners of the auditorium. The meditative Spiegel im Spiegel of the Estonian composer Pärt takes centre stage. In Plainscapes, from his Latvian colleague Vasks, time and space seem infinite. With his Fantasia on a theme by Thomas Tallis Vaughan Williams builds a bridge to the sweet, sixteenth-century Tunes by that same Tallis. But you will also hear Tormis’s wild cries in Curse upon Iron and Sumera’s fiery Concerto.
