De Groningse band Sunken Lands verenigt melancholie en rauwe energie in een mix van Americana en country. Hun sound beweegt zich tussen de groovy outlaw country van Waylon Jennings en de storytelling countryrock van Drive-By Truckers. De naam verwijst naar de veengebieden van Groningen en Drenthe én naar The Sunken Lands van Rosanne Cash. Live bewees de band zijn kracht al naast Dale Watson, The Long Ryders en Bob Wayne.
Nu is er Burning Desire, het nieuwe album dat voortbouwt op de gelijknamige single die eerder dit jaar al uitkwam. De release vindt plaats in VERA en wordt gevolgd door een tour langs clubs en festivals door het hele land.

Their sound moves between the groovy outlaw country of Waylon Jennings and the storytelling country rock of Drive-By Truckers. The name refers to the moors of Groningen and Drenthe and to Rosanne Cash’s The Sunken Lands. Live, the band already proved its strength alongside Dale Watson, The Long Ryders and Bob Wayne.
Now there is Burning Desire, the new album that builds on the single of the same name released earlier this year. The release will take place at VERA and will be followed by a tour of clubs and festivals across the country.
